Mechascopic's Dispatch

Hey everyone,

First off, quick apology for being a day late on this one. Some Sundays just pass by before I realize it.

That said, there’s been some good progress lately, especially in Arc Raiders.

Quests are the real blueprint engine

I’ve been spending more time working through quests, and honestly, I think they’re one of the easiest and most overlooked ways to get blueprints.

It’s easy to get caught up chasing loot spots or hoping for a lucky find, but a lot of the quest rewards are straight-up blueprints. If you’re trying to rebuild or push your progression forward, they’re incredibly reliable.

What’s been working for me:

  • stacking multiple quests before heading into a raid

  • planning a route that hits objectives for two or three quests at once

  • treating quests as the primary goal, not just something extra

When it lines up, you can make a single run count for a lot more than just whatever you happen to find along the way.

It’s not always clean, but when you pull off a multi-quest run and extract, it feels like real progress.

A little Playdate surprise

I’ve been playing Bub-O Collect on the Playdate, and it’s been a really fun surprise.

It’s a simple idea, you’re collecting things using a bubble, but it’s done in a way that feels super polished and satisfying.

It’s:

  • quick to jump into

  • easy to understand

  • just the right amount of challenge

For $3, it’s an easy recommendation.

Pico-8 and the magic of Splore

I’ve also been spending more time with PICO-8, and specifically the Splore feature.

If you haven’t used Splore before, it’s basically a built-in browser of games that people have created, and there are a lot of them.

Like… a lot.

And the best part is, once you have Pico-8 (which is honestly a steal at $14.99), all of these games are just there to explore and play.

What I love about it:

  • you can jump between dozens of games in minutes

  • there’s a huge variety of styles and ideas

  • it’s just as fun to explore as it is to build your own stuff

It’s one of those things that reminds me how creative people can be when working with constraints.

What I’ve been streaming

Recently on stream I’ve been:

  • focusing more on Arc Raiders quests and blueprint progression

  • trying to optimize multi-quest runs

  • mixing in some Playdate sessions here and there

If you’ve been prioritizing quests, I’d be curious how you’re approaching them.

If you’re working on blueprints or just getting started, I’ve put together a few guides that might help:

Thanks for reading, and thanks for hanging out on stream.
